Yoga Alliance is the only national accreditation body for Yoga teachers in the US.
Yoga is a way of life. It incorporates philosophy, ways of being, and ways of conducting ourselves. Yoga provides an approach to facing challenges in the physical, emotional, intellectual, and spiritual arenas in which we all work and play. To be a yoga teacher is to be in the process of uncovering our unique gifts so that we can share them with others.
How Do We Learn to Teach Yoga?
First, it is important to realize that while you can begin to learn to teach yoga, you can never finish learning to teach yoga.
Ultimately we learn to teach yoga by living our lives with meaning and mindfulness, as well as with compassion and love. But what about the specifics of yoga practice? How do we learn the details of alignment, the art of connection and communication, the pacing and sequencing of teaching a class? How do we begin to tap into the ancient wisdom and texts of yoga?
YogaNow offers a unique course of study incorporating a wide variety of instructional
approaches:
Apprentice Sessions, Sundays 1-6 pm
Weekend Intensives, once a month
Attendance at any two classes/week at studio (not for Yoga Alliance, credit but included for you!)
Workshops included in Weekend Intensives
Reading and discussion of the great texts and commentaries
Journaling and written responses to assignments
Lectures with written materials including poses and homework
Viewing engaging and lively DVDs and CDs from around the yoga world
Teaching practice within class setting
Monthly private consults
Opportunities for volunteer teaching as community service
You don’t have to want to be a teacher, you just have to want to learn more about yoga for transformation.
YogaNow Teaching Training Apprentice Program Tuition, Six Month Program, Oct 7, 2007-Mar 30, 2008, NEXT 200hr RYT begins October 5, 2008
• Pay Monthly: each payment $500
• Pay in Two payments: $1425 (save $150 over monthly)
• Pay in One payment: $2700 (save $300 over monthly)

• Include $250 deposit (non-refundable) which will be applied to your tuition.

I just wanted to take the opportunity to express that I'm so glad I joined your teacher-training program. I felt very insecure about my ability regarding asanas in the beginning. I was really nervous about the program, and if I would fail miserably. Although I took my first yoga class about 6 years ago, my practice has been very spotty over the years, never deepening to the level it has now, and I've certainly never had the level of understanding about it all that I do now. So, it's been very exciting to feel myself getting so much stronger and more confident just in the past three months, and then to thoroughly find so much joy (instead of discouragement) in such a challenging class yesterday...
