Namaste,
Namaste can be translated as "I see and celebrate the divine in myself and I see and celebrate the divine in you and we are one."
My name, Meta, rhymes with data, potata, tomata...my parents chose to name me after a close friend of the family.
I have spent my entire life preparing to be a yoga teacher/therapist, although I certainly didn't realize it most of the time. For the first 40 years of my life I struggled to answer external questions such as: "Am I a good daughter, student, manager, wife, mother, and friend?" During this period I worked very hard at everything I did and did attain some measures of success: MBA, two beautiful and vivacious daughters, corporate "big" jobs, teaching at universities. But my body spoke to me of different things...softly at first, then louder and finally screaming with rampant asthma and dis-ease.
I slowed and finally through running (preparing for and running the Big Sur marathon), meditation, yoga and Ayurveda I was able to hear and listen to my truth.
I now experience my body, mind and spirit as a rich orchestra constantly communicating with me, inter playing the event we call life.
It is my extreme pleasure to work to help others attune to their orchestras, to love and accept themselves as I try to impart the lessons I've learned to others.
When I'm teaching yoga I feel closer to God than at any other time. In fact I almost feel I disappear and Shechinah speaks. This is a kind of heaven to me. I am honored to have the opportunity to practice and teach yoga.
